Senior Leadership

Gillian Gordon - Director

After 20 years as a self-employed Interior Designer, Gillian eventually decided it was time for a career change and in 2008 she began working in a High School as part of the supply staff and went on to have various roles over 10 years. Gillian spent 6 years working with year 11 students, first as a support officer within the pastoral care team and then as head of year.  Her final role in the school was head of year 9.

Gillian loved watching the lightbulb moment when the ongoing support and encouragement she had provided the young people, along with their continuous hard work, would eventually pay off and they successfully moved on from school into higher education.

Following a conversation with a friend about her career options, Gillian wanted to continue her work with young people and focused her attention on providing group living accommodation and support for vulnerable young people leaving care.

In 2018 A&V Transitional Homes was born with the first unit being based in Gillian’s childhood family home.

Alongside providing strategic direction to ensure the continuous growth of A&V Transitional Homes, Gillian still holds a passion for Interior Design and art which is reflected in the décor, aesthetics, and upkeep of all the units! She regularly finds time to personally work with the young people who show an interest in art and design to provide them with positive engagement and guidance.
